The perfect gift

As you might imagine it's pretty difficult to please every one of us when it comes to gifts. However - there is one thing that we all agree on - and that's our dog! We love our dog and whenever we see the little guy we just start smiling. That's why we are so excited about this new gift idea we just found. Hand drawn pencil sketch for your pet is just so totally cool. Rather than trying to "drop hints" about our perfict gift we are just gonna plan on giving it to ourselves.

Wahoo!

Strange things are afoot at Google

Well folks, it appears that there is something happening in the heart and mind of Google. There has been some crazy things reported as to the ups and downs of Search Engine Reports. In other words, people are moving up and down in Google because...drumrolll...there has been an algorythm adjustment.

A computer algorythm (plus a little human help) is what Google depends on to keep your search engine queries relevent. They seem to have made another change to the algorythm and things are in flux. Hang on it could be a fun/scary ride.

Stop the spread of Viral Link Skank today

Stop the spread of Viral Link Skank today
: "Now is the time to act and stop the spread of Viral Link Popularity. For far too long now the Internet has functioned as a network of interlinked sites that have been likened unto a 'web' of sites. This is clearly a poor view of the Information Super Highway. To that end the Powers That Be have banded together to fix this massive problem and reshape the web into a more useful controlled environment."

Where Is Your Website?

Where Is Your Website?:

"From Googles Blog (rel='nofollow') is a new attribute to devalue or give no value to links that could be comment spam. This tells me that Googles valuation of links is almost admittedly too high and they are trying to correct this problem in their algo.
Will This new Attribute Work?
What has been happening thus far? Users that have active blogs have been removing the comment spam, thus removing or devaluing the link that is no longer there. Where is this going to improve from what is allready taking place?
Users, in my opinion will continue to remove the unwanted posts/comment spam as those bloggers would not want Viagra, Casino or Porn comments on their website. So will this help having the rel='nofollow attribute in the link? Users that are not very up on the blog industry will never realize that this exists or that they should update their blog software to get this ability.
Now the abandond blogs that will never be updated by a user are still kept alive by the actual blog spammers that fill them with content'. These abandond blogs are well known by the spammer elites and will continue to do their jobs for a long period of time."

PC World - PC safety toolbox: 5 steps to protecting your hard drive

PC World - PC safety toolbox: 5 steps to protecting your system

About six months ago I lost a hard drive. Who knows why it got corrupted but it did. Might have been a virus, or spyware gone wrong, or... What I do know is that I was out the money for a new disk drive and worse out some information that I was never able to recover. I swore that I would never let that happen again, I would back up and be more diligent about protecting my data. You guessed it. A few weeks ago I lost another hard drive - this time I was able to restore some of the information but it was dang frustrating. In light of my personal failures here is a link to some saftey tips for your information.
